Hello all

It’s been a whirlwind six months for the IT department, jam-packed with a variety of projects that kept us fully caffeinated and mildly sleep-deprived. Here are some of the highlights:

• SFP Office Move – After what felt like an eternal game of logistical Tetris, we finally made the move to our new home. On the IT front, it was an intense few months as we designed a fresh network setup and equipped the space with shiny new hardware. We've introduced Wi-Fi 6 (for those who want to stream videos and download large files simultaneously), sleek Teams Rooms, wireless casting to TVs to spare everyone from tripping over cables, docking stations galore, and more.

• Rebranding Collaboration – We joined forces with the Digital & Social team to support the company’s rebranding. There were many meetings, plenty of coffee, and just enough buzzwords to keep it interesting.

• Cyber Security – We worked closely with our cyber partners to stay one step ahead of the hackers (and at least three steps ahead of accidentally clicking dodgy links). We’re proud to have passed our Cyber Essentials assessments—proof that our security is more than just strong passwords and hopeful thinking.

• New IT Ticketing System – We adopted a snazzy new system that helps us sort, assign, and tackle tickets faster than ever. Response times are down, and morale is up—particularly for those who used to chase us down the hallway with “quick questions.”

• Device Maintenance – As ever, we’re monitoring laptops to make sure they’re running smoothly. If your machine is making noises it shouldn’t, overheating like it’s on a beach holiday, or simply feels like it’s had a long life—it might be time for a check-in.
